Located in Cole Green, this premium venue boasts stylish modern interiors, an extensive menu of starters, mains, sharing platters, and light bites, as well as a great selection of real ales, wines, and lagers.

Located in the hamlet of Letty Green, close to the county town of Hertford, The Cowper Arms is well connected and easily accessible by road, public transport, and on foot.

The Cowper Arms is a seven minute drive from Hertford North train station, which offers regular services to London Moorgate via Finsbury Park, Stevenage, and Letchworth.

A number of regular bus routes also serve the area.

Set within the East Hertfordshire countryside, Herford is a historic market town that offers a whole host of activities and attractions.

Keeping Busy in Cole Green

If you’re looking to get out in the good old English countryside, Hertford offers plenty of routes for walkers. To the east of the town, The Meads offers open floods meadow and a walk along the River Lea to Ware, whilst Cole Green Way to the west of the town follows the line of the old railway to Welwyn Garden City. Once you’ve built up a healthy appetite, head to The Cowper Arms to refresh and refuel.

Panshanger Park, a historic Grade II listed park and garden, also offers 200 acres of parkland and plenty of walks and cycle routes.

Hertford Museum contains over 80,000 exhibits over two floors, including archaeology, ephemera, ethnography, fine art, geology, natural history, photographs, and social history. It’s a great place to learn more about the Hertfordshire area!

Just 20 miles north of London, Hertford is also within easy reach of the capital’s many attractions, including the Tower of London, St Paul’s Cathedral, Buckingham Palace, and Big Ben.
